BCH371: Modern Concepts in Biochemistry
Dr. Ty C.M. Hoffman
Arizona State University at
the West Campus
The homework portion of this course consists of sets of
multiple-choice questions for the treated chapters. You must
complete the questions on Blackboard, and you'll find them
on the Quizzes page. Consult the
syllabus for due dates. The deadlines are absolute, meaning
that no late credit will be given, regardless of the degree
of lateness. This is very important to keep in mind, because
it can really put a dent in your total score, so I strongly
urge you to set up automated reminders (e.g., Google
Calendar) to notify you at least a day before each deadline.
You are entirely responsible for ensuring that each
assignment is submitted before the deadline.
I will allow you to take each quiz up to two times, and if you
take a quiz twice, only the higher of the two scores will
count toward your grade. However, if either of them is
submitted late, the penalty described above will be applied
before determining which score to use for your grade. Each
quiz is a random sampling of questions from a larger set of
questions supplied by the publisher. For this reason,
different students will be presented with different questions.
It is important to understand that I did not write these
questions, and therefore the quiz questions will not resemble
the questions appearing on my lecture examinations. The
quizzes and the lecture examinations should be thought of as
entirely separate batches of points, and preparation for my
examinations should NOT involve studying the quiz questions.
Rather, you should prepare for my lecture examinations by
studying well prepared notes that you write during class time
and that you extend and revise while listening to my recorded
lectures.
